Advocacy
Advocacy is at the core of what we do. Our team works to take member issues directly to our state partners at IDOA, HFS and our legislative representatives to be address. In 2025, we successfully lobbied for a rate increase for home care workers, now starting at $18.75. Members can play an active role in our advocacy by participating in our Government Affairs committee and taking action with our legislative alert notifications.
Approximately 105,000 seniors were served through CCP in FY20. According to IDoA, the State saves close to $2,400 for every month a senior stays in CCP and out of a facility. Homecare aides must earn higher than minimum wage for the vital work that they do. |
